Taylor Wein, Oklahoma Defense Understand ‘Weaknesses’ and Are Ready to Fix Them

An offseason of work and "critical eyes" during film sessions could lead to an even stronger defensive unit in 2026.

NORMAN — When a defense that last season ranked in the top 3 per ESPN's SP+ metric says that it spent all offseason focusing on its flaws, it's okay to have some lofty goals.

That's exactly what Taylor Wein suggested on Tuesday following Oklahoma's Fall Camp practice. One of the captains of the 2026 squad didn't shy away from some of the fatal flaws in last year's defense.
